Privacy Policy
Introduction
This policy covers the DoughPro mobile app, run by DoughPro Pty Limited ("we", "our", "us") from Sydney, Australia.
DoughPro helps you build money confidence. We collect only what we need to run your account, remember your progress, send the reminders you asked for, and keep the app working and improving.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not connect to your bank. We do not take payments yet as we are in beta testing but we will in the future have a subscription based model.

Information You Give Us
When you create an account we collect:
-
Your mobile number, so we can send a one-time code and recognise you when you sign in. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Phone Auth (Google). We store the verified number in international (E.164) form on our servers.
-
Your first name, last name, and an age range you pick (we currently offer ranges from 18 and over).
-
Optional profile details such as your money personality result. You don't need to add this to create an account, though some features — like the Money Monday routine — need a personality type selected before you can start them.
-
Anything you write when you email us at hello@doughpro.app.
We do not ask for a password. We do not collect a payment card. We do not ask you to link a bank account.
Information we store as you use the app
To give you your progress back on the next visit, we store the things you create in DoughPro against your account:
-
Goals and amounts you enter.
-
Your weekly ritual (Money Monday) choices and check-ins.
-
Learning progress, quiz scores, and related reviews.
-
Confidence / wellbeing check-ins.
-
A device token so we can send the push notifications you have allowed.
Amounts you type in (a goal target, for example) live on our servers so they can sync. They are not sent to our analytics or crash tools.
Information collected automatically
The app also collects:
-
A DoughPro account id (and, while you are signed in, a Firebase user id) so we can tell your session from someone else's.
-
Device and app facts needed to run and debug the app (for example, OS version and app version).
-
Product-use events (screens opened, features used, onboarding steps). These go to PostHog — see below.
-
Crash and performance reports. These go to Sentry — see below.
We do not collect precise location. We do not use advertising pixels or tracking domains in the app.
How we use this information
We use it to:
-
Create and secure your account, and restore your progress.
-
Show you the features you asked for (goals, rituals, learning, personality).
-
Send Money Monday and other reminders you have turned on.
-
Understand which parts of the app work, and fix the ones that do not.
-
Investigate crashes and abuse.
-
Answer you when you write to hello@doughpro.app.
We do not use your data to show you third-party ads, and we do not sell it. We do use it to improve the app.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that actually run DoughPro, and only as much as they need:
-
Firebase (Google) — phone sign-in, App Check, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
-
Our app servers (hosted on Heroku) and their PostgreSQL database — your account and the progress listed above.
-
PostHog — product analytics (screen views and feature use). We do not send phone numbers or money amounts to PostHog. An account id may be attached to these events so we can tell one person's use from another's; it is cleared when you log out or delete your account.
-
Sentry — crash and performance reports. We do not send phone numbers or money amounts to Sentry. An account id may be attached to a crash so we can tell which session broke; it is cleared when you log out or delete your account.
Apple and Google see what any App Store or Play Store app sees when you download DoughPro. They are not our analytics vendors.
We will share information if the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the safety of you or someone else — for example, responding to a genuine emergency.
Analytics, crashes, and opting out
PostHog and Sentry run as part of the app. There is not yet an in-app toggle to turn them off.
If you want us to stop associating analytics with your account, please delete your account. You can email hello@doughpro.app or delete your account. Settings → Delete my account also wipes the DoughPro record those tools were tied to.
You can turn off push notifications in the app's notification preferences, or in your phone's settings, at any time.
Where it is stored
We are based in Australia. Some of our providers process data outside Australia — including the United States (Firebase, PostHog, Sentry, and our hosting). That is how the app currently runs.
On your device, sign-in tokens live in the platform's secure storage (Keychain / Keystore), not in ordinary app files.
Your rights
If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles apply. You can ask us to:
-
Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
-
Correct it if it is wrong.
-
Delete your account and the data tied to it.
You can delete your account yourself in the app: Settings → Delete my account. That permanently removes your DoughPro record and the progress stored with it. It cannot be undone.
To access or correct data without deleting the account, email hello@doughpro.app. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Security
We use HTTPS, authenticated APIs, and device secure storage for tokens. No system is perfectly safe. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will contact you using the details we have and follow Australian notification rules.
Children
DoughPro is built for adults. The age ranges we offer start at 18 because that is when we believe DoughPro will be useful. If you believe a child has created an account, email hello@doughpro.app and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with in a way that matters, we will update this screen and the date at the top. Keep using the app after a change means you have read the new version. For a significant change we will also try to tell you in the app.
